Each year, the TensorFlow Dev Summit is the meeting not to be missed for Machine Learning professionals using the TensorFlow framework from Google . Before the 2020 edition which will take place from March 11 to 12, the giant of Mountain View has already made several major announcements.
The new TensorFlow Quantum solution will allow convergence between machine learning and quantum computing : two areas in which Google is investing heavily. It is a framework allowing the construction of quantum data sets, or even the prototyping of hybrid models between Machine Learning and quantum.
This new tool also allows the support of quantum circuit simulators, and the training of discriminating or generative quantum models .
The creation of quantum models is based on standard Keras functions , and on quantum circuit simulators or quantum primitives compatible with the already existing TensorFlow APIs.
The TensorFlow Quantum software stack combines several tools . Among them are the open source Cirq quantum circuits library and the TensorFlow Machine Learning platform.
Google TensorFlow Quantum to Help Researchers Achieve Quantum Advantage
According to Google , this Python-based framework will provide the tools necessary for research communities in the fields of machine learning and quantum computing to explore models of natural and artificial quantum systems .
Ultimately, researchers will be able to discover new quantum algorithms that can “potentially lead to quantum advantage” . In the future, Google also plans to allow support for GPUs and TPUs.
